The Gift of Shoes

Per the World Health Organization (WHO), about 10 million children under the age of five die every year[1]. That’s more than 1000 every hour [1]. Hookworm disease is a parasitic infection that affects close to 1 billion people worldwide. Infections and parasitic diseases account for 9% of deaths in children under five [2].

Most children could survive and thrive if they had access to existing simple and affordable solutions. There are over 300 million children who do not have shoes in the world today [3]. Providing shoes, education and medicines for these children are simple low-cost solutions.

You can respond to this challenge by helping us to get shoes and sandals, education, supportive services and medicines to those children and their communities.
